Another visit. I debated between the french roll vs sourdough bread for sandwiches. Easy solution: one of each! Okay, the sourdough is quite good. But, the french roll is without a doubt the way to go! I got the toppings on the side so bread would not get soggy. Very high quality roast beef and ham, both with generous quantity of meat. All said and done, my future orders will without a doubt include roast beef (cooked between medium and medium-rare) with horseradish sauce on french roll. Only disappointment: the potato salad seems to be very similar to mashed potatoes with some chunks of potato, peppers and onions. I'll skip that one. Very pleasant/efficient phone service when calling in the order. Please note: there is a free parking lot on Benjamin Ave and on Arthur Ave, north of Fulton. Much easier than street ($$) parking.

One of the best deli's in GR. The Rancher's Roast Beef has all the best savory flavor combinations that will warm you up on a cold January day.

Pros: do you love Jewish Delis?! If so, this is going to rock your world Cons: None. Well, parking can be a smidge tricky. No more traveling to Ann Arbor to scratch my Ruben itch. These babies are toasted, packed with the good stuff, and staff are great. I also love the ambiance of the location. It's old school, comfy, and fabulous! Truly, it is charming as heck. My hubs tried the Italian hoagie and I got Evan's double dip (corned beef AND pastrami with kraut and 1000Isle on toasted rye). My hubs hoagie was great -the French roll was perfection; really nice chew. My sandwich was glorious! Perfectly toasted and nicely portioned. I also got a slice of banana cake.... It was MAGIC! You cannot find banana cake around here and I hadn't had a slice in probably 25 years. It was as good as my grandma's. A moist sheet pan slice with the most amazing cream cheese frosting. I highly recommend! The Big John is next on our list (my hubs is obsessed with Big John's in Lansing). They were sold out when we visited, but we'll be back! Side note on parking: there are a few spaces along the sidewalk in front. There is also a small parking lot in the back that is shared with other businesses. It wasn't terribly clear where we could park back there so we crossed our fingers and hoped for the best. Additional side note: there's a bakery 2 doors down where their bread is made! Check it out for breads and sweet treats!

This deli does not disappoint. My husband and I split the Reuben and the corned beef was delicious, but the bread alone nearly stole the show. I loved the broccoli salad as a side, but there were so many amazing options to choose from. Staff was so nice and even brought our food out to us at their adorable street seating. Overall 10/10 and I'll be back very soon.

First time at what is obviously a local favorite for lunch. Fun deli feel with very helpful people to walk you through making a custom sandwich. Half and whole sandwiches are only a dollar apart and a difference in a quarter pound of meat!! I had a pastrami with sour dough and it was heavy with meat. My wife wanted a grilled cheese with ham, and was a bit disappointed it was not melting with cheese. However they both tasted great. Potatoes salad is very flavorful with tons of potatoes! It is had plenty of seating and some parking in front and back, but try to get here before the rush as noon!

We hadn't been here in years! Everything remains delicious and filling. Two of us had the roast beef and one BLT. Each were meaty and flavorful. There must've been half a pound of bacon on the BLT! We were told half an hour wait but we had our order in about 20 minutes. There's a wide variety of sides and beverages. Although we didn't order any the sides were homemade and looked yummy! This is such an iconic deli in our town!!

Great food!! We all got #24 The Big John, it tasted amazing and was only $13. They have 24 sandwiches that range from $10-13. Great bread options and soups! Great staff, it was our first time here and the vibes are great! It's also located near the Guatemalan store so that is nice.

Schnitz Rueben Red skin potato salad I asked around and apparently this place has the best Rueben in town. I will say it was pretty damn good. Generous with the corned beef and just the right amount of kraut and dressing. Fresh bread and good cheese. I'll say it's the best in town I've had. I'll probably go back soon to try the pumpernickel/pastrami version. I also got a side of red skin potato salad which was creamy and savory but the bottom was a little bit frozen. Still tasty though. Also they have a good variety of cakes that look absolutely incredible (I'm scared to know how many calories are in one piece). Great little deli! They also have coupons on their website for extra discounts and goodies. Only downside was how incredibly loud it was inside. Seriously someone needs to come study this place I didn't think it was possible for a small shop to be near deafening.
